Good guy Google is always trying to save us half a second with the autocomplete feature. But this little timesaver (emphasis on little) comes with the unintentional side effect of giving us a strange glimpse into other people’s searches.
While some of these autocompletes sound almost like poetry, you also have a lot of people wondering if ghosts fart (come on, guys, really?), and hoping against hope that pizza is good for you.
Click through the photos to see if any of your queries match with Google’s expectations.
Now excuse us, we have to go find out if cats are jerks or liquid.
i’m here to note that in the three seconds she took to read the message, the other woman appears to have moved from silencing her child to seducing a mildly uncomfortable man on the other side of the aisle.
Ghosts, vampires, demons, angels - Sam and Dean have fought against some crazy things in their time. However, their most improbable triumphs are decidedly more mundane. Here are the ten most supernatural things in Supernatural, none of which have anything to do with the paranormal.
1. There is cell phone service and WiFi everywhere
No matter where they go, how far out on the open road or in deep woods, or how long they’ve been stranded without recharging, the Winchesters’ phones are working and Sam has a WiFi connection. Parking lot outside a motel? Sam has WiFi. Retro diner in some forlorn town with one traffic light? Sam has WiFi. Depths of Hell? Sam has WiFi. Well, probably. At least we know Crowley keeps up on his HBO shows down there.
2. Everything on the Internet is true
According to our intrepid heroes, as long as one website claims that somewhere someone once believed something was true, it becomes cold hard fact.
3. Finding a working pay phone is surprisingly easy
When they’re not making clear, static-free calls from the middle of nowhere on old-school flip phones, the Winchesters make good use of pay phones, dialing correctly and somehow not getting all their quarters eaten by the dusty old machines. These things may still be around but honestly, when was the last time anyone actually used one successfully?
4. Sam uses a palm pilot
Look at first season Sam using a stylus to read emails on his palm pilot (in the middle of nowhere, of course).
5. Urban legends can easily be corroborated
Not only are urban legends usually true, but they can be tracked back to their origins and verified using only a quick internet search. And speaking of Internet searches…
6. Sam has great hacking skills
Some of the police records and FBI databases Sam accesses on the Internet seem suspiciously easy to get in to. And while we’re at it, how’d he get so good at hacking? Wasn’t he a pre-law major?
7. Dean still uses his homemade EMF meter
Dean, did you not know there’s an EMF app? Yes, it’s very impressive that he MacGyvered his EMF detector out of a Walkman, but these days anyone with an Android phone can track paranormal activity.
8. Dean still had a Walkman to make an EMF meter out of
Yeah, we know he made it back in 2005, but even so.
9. Crowley’s cell phone number
Blink during “Clip Show” last season and you’ll miss it, but the King of Hell’s cell phone number is a little short.
10. Cell phones are indestructible
Castiel is a being of enormous celestial energy, with a voice so powerful that it causes glass to shatter and entire power systems to short out. He’s constantly zapping around the planet and through other dimensions. And yet, his pre-paid cell phone (and Crowley’s iPhone) still works better than if it had been put through the laundry. Nothing natural about that.
